ACT-7 QUICK START GUIDE

QUICK START GUIDE

Ducted fan speed switch

When th e ACT-7 is fi tted with  ducting, th e position of th e
ducted fan speed switch inside th e ACT-7 room unit has
to be changed. The switch is accessed by removing th e
top cover (fi ve screws). The switch is located at th e back of
th e electric box in th e position shown below. Change th e
switch to th e ducted fan position, and replace th e cover with
th e ducted panel. With  th e ACT-7 in th is state, when th e
fan speed control dial is turned to full speed, th e fan speed
display indicator will display red bars (see Controls). If th e
ducted panel is changed back to th e standard panel ensure
th e switch is changed back to th e non ducted position.

Siting

Room unit

Ideally, th e ACT-7 room unit should be positioned in th e
middle of th e shortest wall in th e room blowing down th e
length  of th e room. If th ere is more th an one ACT-7 in th e
same area, th en th ey would normally be positioned side
by side, and equally spaced along th e long wall, all pointing
in th e same direction. Sometimes it may be necessary to
position units around th e perimeter of an area but, in th is
case, great care should be taken to avoid one unit blowing
cold air straight into anoth er which will adversely aff ect
operation. Good and correct air fl ow is, perhaps, th e single
most important aspect of satisfactory use of portable air
conditioners. If in doubt seek th e advice of your supplier.

Heat exchanger

The external heat exchanger must be sited external to th e
area being cooled and, preferably outside. It can stand freely
on a fl at surface or may be hung, in th e upright position,
from a window-sill or balcony.

Use th e chains provided to support th e heat exchanger.
(See below).

The heat exchanger must NOT be supported by th e
fl exible lines alone.
