1.4 Document Conventions (Safety)
Important safety warnings are used throughout this guide to warn of possible hazards to persons or equipment. A warning
identifies a possible hazard and explains what may happen if the hazard is not avoided. The warnings — in the form of Cau-
tions and Warnings, — must be followed at all times. These indications are flagged by use of the triangular alert icon (seen
below), and are listed in descending order of severity of injury or damage and likelihood of occurrence.
Caution: This caution symbol alerts you to a situation that could result in equipment damage or loss of
data.
Warning: This warning symbol alerts you that failure to take or avoid a specific action might result in
physical harm to you or to the hardware.
