3.1.1 ONT and UPS Site Guidelines
3.1.1.1 2364 ONT Site Guidelines
The 2364 ONT uses an external enclosure to protect the enclosed networking electronics. The product design accommo-
dates a wide range of environmental extremes, including harsh winters, hot summers and associated snow and rain (refer
to Section 3.3.2
for information about protecting the ONT from corrosion in coastal
regions). However, as with all electronic equipment, there are operational limitations.
1.3.1.1.1 2364 ONT Temperature Restrictions
Outside ambient temperature when 2364 ONT electronics panel is installed inside Calix's outer enclosure:
- Temperature range: -40C to +55C (-13F to 131F).
2364 ONT electronics panel inside a different outer enclosure:
- Temperature range: -40C to 65C (-40F to 149F).
- Humidity range: Relative humidity must be between 10% and 90% without condensation.
1.3.1.1.2 2364 ONT Location Guidelines
Before the 2364 ONT is installed at a residence or business, consideration of an appropriate physical location is important.
Use the following guidelines:
• The ONT should be located within a region that is less than 25ft from the point of entry of cables entering the physical
structure of the building."
• The 2364 ONT must be mounted in an area with access to existing customer wiring and grounding. It must be located
