The GPIO0-GPIO3 pins are 4 general purpose bidirectional pins, their default direction a t power up (or after a Reset) i s
i nput.
The rea der ca n be controlled via UART or USB interface. The s election of the interface is performed i nterna l l y to the
module a ccording to the following a lgorithm: i f no i nterface has been previ ously s el ected a nd a hi gh l evel s i gna l i s
detected on the RXD pin, the UART interface i s s el ected a nd the USB i nterfa ce i s di s a bl ed; on the contra ry i f no
i nterface has been previously s elected and RXD pin is at l ow level or l eft unconnected, the USB interface i s selected and
the UART i nterface i s disabled. Pl ease note that i n case you want to s witch between the two i nterfa ces you ha ve to
res et the modul e.
For the USB i nterfa ce a Vi rtua l COM Port (VCP) i s i mpl em ented.
To es tablish a link with the devi ce us i ng UART or VCP connecti on, you mus t confi gure your COM port a s fol l ows :

/RST a nd BSL_SEL pins shall be properly dri ven to s tart the bootloader of R1270 embedded microcontroller i n case the
us er wants to upgrade the firmware image of the reader. In normal opera ti on BSL_SE L s ha l l be a t l ow l evel or l eft
unconnected.
