POWER BUTTON
The CT6 PLUG-IN features an electronic pushbutton start. The
POWER button is located to the right of the steering wheel. The
Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) transmitter must be in the vehicle to
start the ignition.
STARTING THE VEHICLE/ON
With the vehicle in Park or Neutral, press the brake pedal and
then press the
POWER
button. A power ON audio cue will
sound.
Note: The vehicle may start silently (electric only operation) or the engine
may start, depending on the charge of the high voltage battery.
READY TO DRIVE
When the vehicle is ready to
be driven, the
READY
READY
light will display on the
instrument cluster.
Note: The vehicle will not shift
out of Park and a Charge Cord
Connected message will display
if the vehicle is plugged in.
SHUTTING DOWN THE
VEHICLE/OFF
Shift to Park and then press the
POWER
button. A power OFF
audio cue will sound.
Note: The air conditioning compressor, pumps and fans may run at any time,
even when the vehicle is OFF, to cool or warm the high voltage battery.
CONDITIONS FOR THE ENGINE STARTING
When the vehicle power is ON, the engine may start, when
necessary for operating conditions, to provide power or to charge
the high voltage battery. Conditions that may cause the engine to
start include:
• High voltage battery charge is low
• Aggressive driving that demands additional power or
acceleration
• Cold ambient temperatures (less than 32°F/0°C)
• High voltage battery temperature is hot or cold
• Vehicle speed over 78 mph while driving under electric
power only
• Engine or Fuel Maintenance Modes (occur only if the engine
has had very limited operation over a long period)
