CHANGING PASSWORDS
1.
The User Account Management dialog box appears. Follow steps 2-8 to change the admin and guest
passwords.
2.
In the List of Users, select admin.
3.
In the User Profile, type your new password in the Password field, and type it again in the Confirm
Password field.
4.
Click the Update Profile button.
5.
In the List of Users, select guest.
6.
In the User Profile, type your new password in the Password field, and type it again in the Confirm
Password field.
7.
Click the Update Profile button.
8.
Click the Close button to return to the SmartCell ZX Administrator window. You are ready to use
the application to manage your switch.

STARTING SMARTCELL ZX ADMINISTRATOR
AFTER THE FIRST TIME
After you have started SmartCell ZX Administrator the first time and changed the default passwords, you log in to the
application just as you would any Windows program. The following steps describe the procedure:
1.
In the SmartCell ZX Network Management Tools (Common) program group, double click the icon
labeled SmartCell ZX Administrator. The SmartCell ZX Administrator Login dialog box appears.
2.
Enter your user name and press the Tab key. The user name is case sensitive.
3.
Enter your password and click the OK button. The password is case sensitive. The SmartCell ZX
Administrator window appears. You are ready to use the application to manage your switch.

ADDING A USER
1.
Log in using a user name whose Access Level is set to Administrator.
2.
The SmartCell ZX Administrator window appears. On the Applications menu, select User
Management.
3.
The User Account Management dialog box appears. In the User Profile, enter the new user name in
the Name field.
4.
Select the Access Level with the pull-down menu.
5.
Use the Tab key to move from field to field. The Full Name and Description are optional.
6.
Enter the password in the Password field, press Tab, and enter the password again in the Confirm
Password field.
7.
Click the Add Acct button.
8.
Click the Close button to return to the main window.
