3 GETTING STARTED
Most of the instructions for using SmartCell ZX Administrator appear in the online help. This chapter describes a few
tasks that you need to know about as you begin to use the application.
After you read this chapter, you will be able to perform the following tasks:

Starting SmartCell ZX Administrator the first time
•
Starting SmartCell ZX Administrator after the first time
•
Adding a user
•
Accessing online help
•
Uninstalling SmartCell ZX Administrator
3.1 STARTING SMARTCELL ZX ADMINISTRATOR
THE FIRST TIME
When you use SmartCell ZX Administrator for the first time, you should change the default passwords to prevent
unauthorized access to the application. The application arrives with two user accounts set up, as described in Table 3-1.
1. In the SmartCell ZX Network Management Tools (Common) program group, double click on the
icon labeled SmartCell ZX Administrator. The SmartCell ZX Administrator Login dialog box
appears.
2. Enter the default user name,
admin
. The user name is case sensitive.
3. Enter the default password,
admin
, and click the OK button or press Enter. The password is case
sensitive.
4. The SmartCell ZX Administrator window appears. On the Applications menu, select User
Management.
