Throughout this document, the following terms may be used to refer to
Cabletron Systems products or documentation. Table 1 summarizes the

Convention: Represents:
special type In examples, special type indicates system output.

italics
In the context of commands and command syntax,
lowercase italics indicate variables for which the user
supplies a value.
