3.5 Troubleshooting Notes

 

• 

Check that both the Transmitter and Receiver have power. The green LED on both the 
Transmitter and Receiver should be lit. 

• 

Check that all cables are connected well to the correct ports 

• 

Directly connect the USB devices to the computer to test for compatibility. 

• 

Test the Cat 5e/6 cable with a network tester. 

• 

Try one USB device on the Receiver each time 

• 

Test with a different USB device for compatibility issues. 

• 

Test with different USB port on the computer 

• 

Place the Extender away from fluorescent lighting or equipment that generates electrical noise. 

• 

A ‘The USB devices are not recognized’ error message may indicate that the connected USB 

devices need more power, please connect the external power for the USB devices. 

• 

Wait 10 seconds for a handshake signal when connecting a computer. 

• 

Plug and re-plug the USB cable. 

• 

Remove the USB cable from the computer, power off the extender, reboot the computer, then 
reconnect the USB cable to the computer
