Tips
Limit the selected dictionaries to the ones you really need to get a faster search and less
irrelevant data in the result. Tick the dictionaries you want to use in the
Dictionaries
field.
If you use more than one dictionary you can select search order using the arrows beneath
the list of dictionaries. The dictionary at the top is searched first.
You can use the function button on C-Pen 20 to jump between words and between
sections of the window. With one click on the button you jump to the next word in that
section. With a double-click on the button you jump to the next section.
You can jump to previously looked-up text using the arrows in the top right corner of the
Input
box.
You can change the font size of the scanned and translated text from the
View
menu.
You can set the program to play a sound when the scanning is unsuccessful, in the
Settings
window (select
Scan
_
Settings
in the menu).

Flashcards, cards with a question on one side and an answer on the other, remain a great
way to learn and remember new information. There is research to suggest that flashcards
are the best tool for memorisation. Much of this research focuses on what is called
“spaced repetition”, in which information is reviewed over gradually expanding intervals.
With the
Flashcard
exercises you can rehearse the words you have previously looked up (or
other words).
Prepare – Create the Stack and the Cards
1. Click
Learn
_
New flash card
in the menu. The Flashcard stack dialogue opens.
2. Type a name of the new flash card stack. Click
OK
. The stack name appears in the
Flashcard stack
column.
3. Click
New
in the
Flashcard
column and create a card with front and back in the
Flashcard
column.
Save
the card and create more cards in the same way. A card can, for example,
be a word on the front and its translation on the back. Or it can be a question on the
front and the answer on the back.
