DESCRIPTION

The BURNDY® MR 15-18-20 HYTOOL

TM

incorporates a full cycle ratchet mechanism that provides a

complete, positive crimp each time.  Once started the ratchet mechanism does not allow the handles

to be opened until after the full ratcheting cycle is completed, unless the user actuates the emergency

release lever.  This provides for a completed crimp before a connector can be removed from the tool.

OPERATION

1.  Open the tool.  Place the terminal into the correct die nest.

2.  Partially close the tool until the terminal is held in place.

3.  Insert the wire into the terminal.

4.  Close the tool until the ratchet releases.

MAINTENANCE

The service life of a tool can be greatly improved with proper care and maintenance.  To extend

the life of your BURNDY® MR mechanical crimp tool keep it clean and well lubricated.  Inspect

the tool prior to, and after each use for dirt, grease, oil, oxide inhibitors (Penetrox

TM

), and other

foreign materials.  Should any of these exist, clean the tool using a high quality solvent type
cleaner.  After each cleaning, wipe the tool dry and lubricate with a high grade silicone spray.
