1. Remove all packaging from the inside and outside of the Sparger
2. Fill the Sparger to 5cm (2 inches) below Max, boil and discard the water once.
The Sparger is protected by a thermal limiter with automatically reset function to prevent acciden
-
tal dry-boil. If this is activated, the appliance will turn itself off, although the lamp with remain on.
The Sparger must be unplugged before it can be reset. To reset the Sparger, wait until it has cooled
down, then power it on again and check if the heating pilot light is on. If the pilot light is on, it indi
-
cates the unit has recovered to normal working condition; if the light is still off, unplug the cord and
try to power on again. Repeat this operation several times until the Sparger starts up normally.
The thermal limiter is for protecting the user as well as the Sparger itself. In case of repeated inci
-
dents, the bi-metal may malfunction, leading to irreparable damage. Please note that the manufac
-
turer warranty will then not apply.
DRY-BOIL PROTECTION
1. Turn the lid anti clockwise to open, beware
handle may be hot.
2. Fill the Sparger with water to anywhere be
-
tween Max and Min levels.
3. Put the lid back and turn clockwise to lock into
place
4. Connect the plug to the electrical socket.
5. Switch ON, set thermostat knob to desired
temperature. Note if water level is near Max,
do not exceed 95°C as it may then boil over.
The red indicator shows that Sparger is heating.
6. Once the chosen temperature has been
reached a green “Keep warm” indicator will
show instead.
7. Connect the pump from the Bulldog Brewer
to the ball valve of Sparger to transfer sparge
water to the Brewer. Secure the metal tube to
the Brewer bucket with a paperclip or similar.
8. If you top up water in the Sparger, it will auto
-
matically heat up again.
9. If left on for longer time, always make sure Sparger is not running dry.
