PRIMARY CHAIN
GENERAL
Since the primary chain runs in lubricant, little service will be
required other than checking lubricant level and chain tension.
If, through hard usage, the primary chain does become worn
and cannot be adjusted to within specifications, it must be
replaced. See
.
An opening between the primary drive and transmission com-
partments allows the same lubricant supply to lubricate moving
parts in both areas.
