3       Assisted pedalling

3.1  What is assisted pedalling?

This bike is fitted with electrically assisted pedals. The motor supports your own
physical effort. You absolutely must pedal to launch the assistance. If you do not pedal,
then the motor remains inactive. You may adjust the level of assistance by choosing
the desired level on the handlebar console.

3.2 All you need to know about assisted pedalling

When electrical assistance is activated, you start the bike differently to a normal bike.
It is easier to get going. Do not let this take you by surprise and get used to how it
feels before riding through heavy traffic. We advise you to use the assistance
programme to get going from a standstill.

When the electric assistance is deactivated, there is very little additional resistance.
This means that you can always use the bike as a normal bike, even without the
battery.

The assisted pedalling is legally limited to a speed of 25km/h, meaning that once you
reach 23km/h the assistance will gradually decrease before disappearing completely at
25km/h.

The bike’s range depends on the battery’s amperage as well as the conditions of use.
The values shown were measured in average conditions. The main factors susceptible
to influence these data are: teh weight of the cyclist, the bike’s speed, inclines, tyre
pressure, headwinds, the number of gear changes and frequency of braking (in town),
and the ambient temperature.  When temperatures are very low, the bike’s range is
significantly reduced. Take this into account when using your bike.
