Find your main telephone
socket. It’s probably in your
hall or living room, and will
have a horizontal ‘join’ line
across the front.

Unscrew the lower half of your main socket and
gently slide it forward. Take care not to disconnect
any of the wires.

Slide the I-Plate into place, guiding the wiring through
the slot at the bottom of the I-Plate.

Replace the lower half of the socket, placing it over the
I-Plate, and secure it using the longer screws supplied.

Congratulations! You’ve successfully fitted your I-Plate.
Please register it at

You can recheck your broadband speed at

to 48 hours for any broadband speed improvements

every three hours.

Note: your telephone and broadband services will stop
working while you fit your I-Plate. These will automatically
start working again once it’s fitted.

Before you start, we suggest you check your current
broadband speed so you can compare it with your
increased speed after fitting your I-Plate. Just go to

www.speedtester.bt.com

and make a note of the test

results. Please note: you can run this tester only once
every three hours.

Note: if the socket looks like one of the images below, it isn’t
compatible and can’t be fitted with the I-Plate.
