Using the telephone without lifting the handset

Converse 300's built-in microphone and
loudspeaker allow you to make and receive
calls
without lifting the handset. To get the best use
out of the loudspeaking facility, make
sure
you
wait until your caller has finished speaking
before you speak. Use the
volume
control
which is above the
AMPLIFY
button to adjust the
volume of what you hear through the
loudspeaker. Each time you turn on the
loudspeaking facility, the red light next to the
button will switch on, and each time you turn it
off, the light will switch off.
Making a call
•
Press
LOUDSPEAKING
•
Dial the number
•
If
the line is engaged, press
LOUDSPEAKING
to end your call and try again later
•
If the line is ringing, wait until your caller
answers and then talk to them
•
When you've finished your call, press
LOUDSPEAKING
Note - The Emergency Services can be contacted
using this telephone by dialling
999.
If your
Converse
300
is connected to a switchboard, you
may need to key in an access code (eg
9)
to get an
outside line before dialling
