Attention:
- Make sure that both calibration solution and electrode are in good condition.
- Rinse and dry the probe before immersing it into another solution.
- Stirring gently with the electrode will improve the accuracy of the reading.
- A temporary error message ‘Err’ can appear when the measured value is out of
the calibration range (e.g. if you immerse the meter in a pH 7.00 solution while
you want to carry out a pH 4.00 calibration, the calibration will fail).
- Press MEAS to exit the calibration mode.
pH measurement
1. Press MEAS to turn the meter on.
2. Thoroughly rinse the meter with distilled water (by stirring a couple of times
in a glass). Briefly dry with filter paper.
3. Immerse the probe into the solution and stir gently. Wait 3-5 seconds to
stabilise the read-out. The measurement is finished.
HOLD-function
This function allows you to ‘freeze’ a
certain value for later observation.
1. Press HOLD to fix the value. The
display shows ‘HOLD’ along with the value.
2. Press HOLD again to exit this function.
Temperature measurement
Press ENTER/°C during measuring to read the temperature. Press again to return to the measuring
mode.
Attention: the temperature of this meter lies between 0 and 60°C.
Note
This pH meter can only measure the pH values of liquids or semi-liquids.
Never immerse the probe directly into highly acidic or highly alkaline liquids.
Additionally, never measure liquids above 80°C.
Replacement of the electrode
(item n° 013.114.4)
You can replace the module of the electrode. Should the meter fail to calibrate or gives fluctuating
values, you need to replace the electrode.
1. Unscrew the electrode from the meter by twisting the ribbed collar anticlockwise.
2. Pull the old module from the meter.
3. Align the new module, using the gaps as a guide, so it will fit into the meter.
4. Gently push the module into place. Place and screw the ribbed collar back into place clockwise.
It is necessary to calibrate the meter after replacing the electrode.
