Breville Quiet Boil Technology

Your Breville Moda Kettle includes Quiet Boil
Technology, a new development that will make
boiling water in the kettle a quieter experience.
Please carefully read the following instructions.

How it works

Quiet Boil Technology consists of a specially designed
diffuser ring and unique base coating that minimises
the level of noise output during heating. It is only at
the point of boil that a light bubbling noise can be
heard which will indicate that the water has boiled.

Maintaining the Quiet Boil Technology

Through regular use over time, scale can build up in
the kettle that can affect the performance of the
Quiet Boil Technology as well as the life of the kettle.

Lime and Phosphate are common forms of scale that
can damage your kettle. Lime scale, a harmless
mineral, comes in the appearance of white, coloured
or rusty-looking build up on the inner walls of the
kettle. Phosphate scale can’t be seen, however it can
cause the water to appear cloudy when heated.

To prevent scale form damaging your kettle, ensure
that the kettle is de-scaled regularly. This is done by
emptying the kettle after use and not allowing water
to stand in the kettle overnight.

Please read Page 8 for information on de-scaling
your Breville Moda Kettle.

Operating your Breville Moda Cordfree Kettle

Before first use

Remove any promotional material attached to your
kettle. It is recommended that before the first use,
the kettle is filled to the maximum level, boiled and
the water discarded. Your kettle will only operate
when positioned on the power base with the ON/OFF
switch in the ‘ON’ position. The kettle will
automatically switch ‘OFF’ once the water has boiled.

Operation of your kettle

1. To fill the kettle, remove it from the power

base and open the lid by pressing the lid release
button. Fill with the desired amount of water.
Do not operate the kettle without water or fill
above the maximum mark on the water window.
Too little water will result in the kettle switching
off before the water has boiled.

2. Ensure that the lid is locked firmly into place.

Place the kettle firmly onto the power base.
Plug the power cord into 230/240V power point
and switch ‘ON’.

3. Press the ON/OFF switch to the ‘ON’ position.

The power ‘ON’ light will illuminate.

Never operate the kettle dry. Too little water will
result in the kettle switching “OFF” before the
water has boiled. Filling above the maximum
mark on the exterior of the kettle may result in
boiling water splashing from the kettle.

Note

This kettle must only be used with the power
base supplied. Use caution when pouring water
from your kettle, as boiling water will scald. Do
not pour the water too quickly.

Note

4. The kettle will automatically switch ‘OFF’ once

the water has boiled. Lift the kettle from the
power base and pour the water. Take care to hold
the kettle level, especially when filled to the
maximum level. To re-boil it may be necessary
to wait for a few seconds to allow the control
to reset.

The kettle may be stored on its power base when
not in use. The power point should be switched
off and the appliance plug unplugged from the
power when not in use.

Safety boil dry protection

The kettle is fitted with a safety device, which
protects against overheating should the appliance be
operated with insufficient water. If this occurs the
kettle will stop heating. Switch ‘OFF’ at the power
point and allow kettle to cool before refilling. When
the kettle has cooled down, the safety device can be
reset by removing and then replacing the kettle on
its base.
