Speaker placement guidelines
Place the speakers so their combination of reflected and direct sound provides the audio
atmosphere of a home theater.
Figure 5
Sample layout of correctly
placed speakers
Left and right front cube speakers
Sound from these speakers should seem to come from the edge of the picture, keeping the
acoustic image similar in size to the visual image.
• Line up the left and right front speakers with the center of the TV screen (Figure 5).
• Place them up to 3 feet (1 m) from the edge of the TV screen.
Staying within this maximum keeps the sound associated with the picture.
• Direct one cube of each speaker forward and the other cube toward the wall or away from
the front to create reflected sound.
Note:
The cube speakers are magnetically shielded, so placing them close to the TV will not
affect picture quality.
Center cube speaker
Sound from the center speaker should seem to come directly from the center of the picture.
Note:
Do not place a Jewel Cube
®
speaker on its side, which can block the ports and/or
diminish performance.
• Place the center speaker directly above or below the center of the TV screen, or as close to
that as possible.
