Mounting the Field Bus Coupler
5.1
General information
The field bus coupler can be fastened directly to your system using screws.
The field bus coupler can also be mounted on a mounting rail using an adapt‐
er (Bosch Rexroth accessories) or fastened to a profile rail using a surface
mounting profile (Bosch Rexroth accessories). The accessories for the
IndraControl S67 Sercos field bus coupler are located in
"Mounting Rail Adapter, Profile Adapter, Spacer" on page 130
To mount on a flat surface, Bosch Rexroth provides spacers as mounting aid.
The spacers can be inserted between the IndraControl S67 components.
This provides sufficient mounting distance for compact direct mounting and
prevents gaps where dirt can accumulate. A cable tie can be fastened
through each of two eyes in the spacer, which together serve as strain relieve
from the sensor cables.
5.2
Mounting Notes
Always follow the subsequent instructions:

Disconnect the power supply from the system before mounting.
●
The maximum diameter of the drilling hole for the fastening holes of the
field bus coupler must not exceed 4 mm. Otherwise, there may be no
full contact with the PE socket of the field bus coupler and a proper
shielding is not possible.
●
The protective cap of the DIP switch is to be closed and screwed
●
To protect the field bus coupler from tensile forces that may arise, do
not bridge spaces with the coupler
●
Screw down the field bus coupler only on flat contact surfaces to protect
the coupler from warping
●
Ensure that the connectors are not soiled during mounting. Dirt and oth‐
er such substances damage the contacts, allowing corrosion to develop
in these areas
●
To avoid damaging the field bus coupler, do not mount the coupler in
shear areas of moving devices
●
Provide an adequate potential equalization of your system
●
Use all fastening holes to mount the field bus coupler to the system so
that all FE connections lie on a ground potential.
5.3
Required Tools and Accessories for Mounting
Depending on the mounting type, the following tools are required:
●
Screwdriver for M4 fastening screws
●
Drilling machine to pre-drill the fastening holes for mounting on the sys‐
tem for the field bus coupler and, if applicable, for the imperforated
mounting rail.

M4 thread cutter (tap or tap set)
