The polarity reversal can cause the destruction of the device
(fire hazard) if there is no additional external protection.
This is caused by the simultaneous grounding of the GND (U )
in the device and the GND (U ) load (PELV) at the power supply unit.

Ensure that there is an external fuse.
Dimensioning the voltage supply
Do observe the maximum currents when dimensioning the voltage supply. Di‐
rectly at the device, a voltage of 20.4 V to 28.8 V must be available.
The voltage must be observed even if

There are variations in the line voltage, e.g. caused by different loads of
the power supply network,
●
There are varying load states, such as short-circuit, normal load, lamp
load, or no load.
The maximum conductor cross-section for the voltage supply is 1.5 mm

Grounding
Production failure possible due to control fail‐
ure resulting from insufficient grounding.
NOTICE
An optimum grounding
is required to keep away possible interferences from the control and from the
Rexroth Inline terminals and to discharge them to the ground.
Functional earth ground
The top-hat rail on which the control is mounted must be mounted to a groun‐
ded metal carrier, e. g. the rear panel of the control cabinet.
Grounding screw
A functional earth ground via the grounding screw is required to ensure opti‐
mum noise immunity. The grounding screw is positioned under the control
(see
). The functional earth ground is to be connected via a cable,
which is as short as possible or, better, via a ground strip.
