■
Always switch the machine off and wait until it
has come to a standstill before placing it down.
■
Never allow children to use the machine.
■
Bosch is only able to ensure perfect operation
of the machine if the original accessories in-
tended for it are used.
■
Before any work on the machine itself, pull
the mains plug.
Selecting the Sanding Sheet
Depending on the material to be worked, different
sanding sheet qualities are to be used:
for the working of all wooden materials.
for the working of paint/enamel coats or primers
and fillers.
Replacing the Sanding Sheet
Before placing on a new sanding sheet, free the
sanding plate from dust and dirt.
Slightly lift sanding-sheet clamp 1 and detach.
First insert the sanding sheet at the rear to the
stop and reattach the sanding-sheet clamp 1
again.
Make sure that the sanding sheet 6 lies taught on
the sanding plate. Wrap the sanding sheet round
and clamp tightly at the front end in the same
manner.
To ensure optimum dust extraction, the holes of
the sanding sheet must match with those of the
sanding plate.
Sanding sheets without holes, e. g. from rolls or
by the meter, can be punctured with the perforat-
ing tool 12* for use with dust extraction (see
figure ).
Internal Vacuuming with Dust Box
(see figure
)
Attaching the dust box:
Attach the dust box onto the outlet piece 8 and al-
low it to snap in; take care that the holder 7
latches in the corresponding groove of the ma-
chine.
Emptying the dust box:
Actuate the latching lever 9 and pull off the dust
box.
Before opening the dust box, it is recommended
to loosen the dust from the filter element by strik-
ing against a hard surface.
Grasp the dustbox by the recessed grip, fold the
filter element (micro filtersystem) 10 upwards and
empty the dust box 4. Clean the thin plates of the
filter system with a soft brush.
Caution, fire hazard!
In unfavourable conditions, e. g. when
sparks emit from sanding metals, sand-
ing-debris in the dust bag, microfilter or
paper sack (or in the filter sack or filter
of the wet/dry vacuum cleaner) can self-
ignite. Particularly when mixed with re-
mainders of varnish, polyurethane or
other chemical materials and when the
sanding debris is hot after long periods
of working.
Avoid overheating the object being
sanded as well as the power tool, and al-
ways empty the dust collector before
breaks.
If your tool is equipped with a dust bag, empty it
frequently and after completion of sanding.
Be particularly careful when disposing of dust, as
materials in fine particle form may be explosive.
Do not throw sanding dust on an open fire. Spon-
taneous combustion may in time, result from mix-
ture of oil or water with dust particles.
External Dust Extraction
(see figure
)
Slide the extraction adapter 11 onto the outlet
piece 8 and make sure that the latches engage.
To remove, press the latches together at the rear
and pull off the extraction adapter.
The vacuum cleaner must be suitable for the ma-
terial to be worked.
When vacuuming dry dust that is especially detri-
mental to health or carcinogenic, use a special
vacuum cleaner.
