Setting the hob
This section familiarises you with how to make settings on your
hob. The table shows heat settings and cooking times for
various meals.
Switching the hob on and off
Use the
%
main switch to switch the hob on and off.
Switching on
Touch the
%
symbol.
The indicator above the main switch lights up. The hob is ready
for use.
Switching off
Touch the
%
symbol until the indicator above the main switch
goes out.
All hotplates switch off. If the hotplates have become hot from
the pan bases, the residual heat will be indicated by
•
or
œ
.
Note:
The hob switches itself off automatically if all hotplates are
switched off for more than 20 seconds.
Selecting and setting the hotplate
Prerequisite: The hob must be switched on.
Use the

and
A
symbols to set the required heat setting.

Every heat setting has an intermediate setting. This is identified
by a dot.
Place the cookware on a suitable hotplate.
Hotplate with extended cooking zone:
Use cookware where the size approximately matches the
circular or oval surface of the hotplate.

Switching off the hotplate
Touch and hold the

symbol until the

appears. The
hotplate switches off. If the hotplate has become hot from the
base of the pan, the residual heat indicator

will appear
after a few seconds.
The heat setting flashes.
There is no cookware on the hotplate, it is the wrong size or
made of unsuitable material. To stop the heat setting flashing,
place suitable cookware on the hotplate. Otherwise the hotplate
will switch itself off after a certain time.
The heat setting and residual heat indicator appear
alternately
Heating stops. The cookware has been removed from the
hotplate and the hotplate is still switched on. Place another
piece of cookware on the hotplate or switch it off.

The following table provides a few examples.
The cooking time may vary depending on the type of food, its
weight and quality. Deviations are therefore possible.
Use heat setting 9 to bring food to the boil.
