6.2.1
Purging the pipework
▶ Use a hose [1] to connect the DFV on the safety assembly to the mains
water supply.
▶ To drain the water away, connect a hose [2] to the DFV on the flow
limiter.

Hose for water drainage
▶ Open all shut-off devices.
▶ Close the right-hand ball valve [2] on the solar pump station and the
ball valve on the air vent (
Fig. 21, [2]).
▶ Purge the pipework, making sure that the maximum operating
pressure is not exceeded.
▶ Shut off the water supply.
▶ Close the fill and drain valves [3] in the solar pump station.

6.2.2
Carrying out a tightness test with water
The solar thermal system is vented by opening the plug screw [2] on the
automatic air vent valve.
▶ Open the ball valve [2].
▶ Unscrew the plug screw [1] one turn.

Ball valve
▶ Set the ball valves [1] on the thermometers to 45° and open the flow
limiter [2] and other shut-off devices.
▶ Carry out a tightness test, observing the permissible pressures for all
assemblies.
▶ After the tightness test: drain the water and clean the automatic air
vent valve.

If a pre-cooling vessel is installed:
▶ Disconnect the pre-cooling vessel from the solar
circuit while flushing so that the fluid remaining in the
pre-cooling vessel does not get mixed with the heat
transfer medium.
