Maintenance and inspection

Before do any maintenance and inspection, ensure unplug the plug.

For safe and proper working, always keep the power tool and the ventilation slots clean.

A damaged hammer rod protector should be changed immediately. We recommend having this carried out by an after-sales service.

1. Inspecting the tool

Since use of a dull tool will degrade efficiency and cause possible motor malfunction, sharpen or replace the tool as soon as abrasion is noted.

2. Inspecting the mounting screws

Regularly inspect all mounting screws and ensure that they are properly tightened. Should any of the screws be loose, retighten them immediately. failure to

do so could result in serious hazard.

3. Maintenance the motor

The motor unit winding is the very "heart" of the power tool. Exercise due care to ensure the winding does not become damaged and/or wet with oil or water.

4. Inspecting the carbon brush

Indicator 7

When the carbon brushes are worn out, the power tool switches itself off. This is indicated approx. 8 hours beforehand by the lighting or blinking of the indica-

tor 7. The power tool must then be sent to an after-sales service agent.

If the power tool should fail despite the care taken in manufacturing and testing procedures, repair should be carried out by an after-sales service center for

Bormann power tools.

5. Cleaning

Clean the machine regularly with a soft cloth, preferably after each use. Solvent such as gasoline, thinner, alcohol etc.. These kind of chemical materials are not

allowed to use, water or soap are recommended!

6. Protecting the Environment

Do not dispose of power tools together with household waste material!

The machine, accessories and packaging should be sorted for environmental friendly  recycling.

CAUTION:

Repair, modification and inspection of Bormann Power tools must be must be carried out by a Bormann Authorized Service Center.

In the operation and maintenance of power tools, the safety regulations and standards prescribed in each country must be observed.

Operating instructions

Prior to operation

1. Power source

Ensure that the power source to be utilized conforms to the power requirements which specified on the name plate of the hammer.

2. Power switch

Ensure that the power switch is in the OFF position. If the plug is connected to a power receptacle while the power switch is in ON position, the demolition

hammer will start operation immediately, which could cause a serious accident!

3. Extension cord

When the work area is removed from the power source, use an extension cord of sufficient thickness and rated capacity. The extension cord should be kept as

short as practicable.

Switch operation

Observe correct mains voltage! The voltage of the power source must agree with the voltage specified on the type plate

of the power tool.

Switch on: Press the switch towards① position.

Switch off: Release the switch towards ② position.

For low temperatures, the machine reaches the full impact rate only after a certain time.

This start-up time can be shortened by striking the chisel in the power tool against the floor one time

Shock absorption Equipment

The tool is equipped with an active vibration reduction system, which cuts vibration of that of the without Active Vibra-

tion Reduction. This may significantly reduce the exposure level over the total working period protect the operator form

the effects of vibration.

Switch

Setting the Impact Rate

The electronic control enables step-less speed pre-selection in accordance with the material to be worked.

The constant electronic control keeps the preselected impact rate nearly constant between no-load and load conditions.

Select the impact rate with the Speed Adjuster Function Knob6 according to the material.

Changing the Chiseling Position (Vario-lock)

The chisel can be locked in 12 positions. In this manner, the optimum working position can be set for each application.

Insert the chisel into the tool holder.

Push the limited ring 3 forward and turn the chisel to the required position with the limited ring 3.

Release the Move limited ring backward 3 and turn the chisel until it latches.
