Fitting & positioning the spindle
Non key override models
When positioning the spindle ensure that the spindle is facing towards the top opening edge of the
door (as per fig.1 below) when viewed from the outside (keypad side) of the door. Use the longest
spindle supplied to ensure that it does not move out of position when fitted to the door.
Key override models
When positioning the spindle ensure that the spindle is facing towards the top opening edge of the
door (as per fig.1 below) when viewed from the outside (keypad side) of the door. The spring located
around one side of the spindle should be between the keypad and the side of the latch to ensure the
spindle is reaching the cylinder in the keypad.
If the spindle needs to be cut down - the only side which should be cut is the side for the inside
handle. The keypad side should not be cut at all as the entire bladed part of the spindle is required
to reach the back of the cylinder to allow the key override function to operate correctly.
