normal operation, this feature provides for power-up without repeating the Auto-calibration procedure.
When changing sensor EEPROM data this feature may cause confusion.
When the
RD-S-XXXX
commands are used to write new data into a sensor’s EEPROM, any sensor data
stored in the instruments non-volatile memory is NOT disturbed. Therefore, a previously auto-calibrated
sensor will continue to use the old data until the instrument reads the EEPROM again.
Models 4400 and 4500 will not update the
Calibration Factor
tables in memory unless the Calibration
Date or the serial number in the EEPROM has changed and the sensor has been un-plugged and plugged
back in or until a different sensor has been plugged in.
Models 4400A and 4500A with software versions prior to 20020511 operate as above.
Models 4400A and 4500A with software versions 20020511 or later update non-volatile memory when
auto-calibration is performed successfully. In addition, the sensor auto-cal file may be deleted from
memory by choosing the Util > Disk > Flash Disk menu. Select the sensor auto-cal file by serial number
and channel and use the Delete Start key to delete it from memory. After the sensor is unplugged or
power-down occurs, the sensor will no longer be recognized.
Models 4531 and 4532 will not update the calibration factor tables in RAM until the sensor is unplugged
and plugged back in or until a power OFF/ON cycle occurs. These models update immediately any
changes made with the manual sensor data editor. This sensor data editor is available only from the front
panel controls.
