NiMH/NiCd battery program
The NiMH/NiCD programs are for charging or discharging NiMH (Nickel-Metal- Hydride)
or NiCd (Nickel-Cadmium) batteries. To alter the value at the display, press Start/Enter
key to make it blink then change the value using INC or DEC key.The value will be stored
by pressing Start/Enter key once.
To start the process, press Start/ Enter button for more than 3 seconds.
Charging NiCd/NiMH batteries
BLACKMAX
offers 2 Modes for charging NiMH/NiCD
batteries.
1) Auto program mode will charge the battery
pack using a smart algorithm that applies charge/
discharge techniques to arrive at the final delta peak
voltage of the battery pack. Auto mode has a user set
current limit function to limit charge current fed into
low impedance packs during the early stages of the
charge process.
2) Manual program mode will charge the pack at the
user set current and sense the ‘Delta Peak’ value of
the battery pack to stop the charge process.
Each mode can be switched by pressing the INC and
DEC buttons simultaneously when the current value
is blinking.
Discharging NiCd/NiMH battery
When discharging NiMH/NiCD packs you set the
discharge current and final voltage of the pack at
discharged state. Discharge current is seen on the
left and final voltage on the right of the LCD screen.
The discharge current ranges from 0.1 to 1.0A and
the final voltage ranges from 0.1 to 25.0V.
To start the process, press the Start /Enter key
for more than 3 seconds. The screen displays
the current state of discharge. You can alter the
discharge current by pressing StartEnter key during
the process. Once you change the current value,
store it by pressing Start /Enter button again. To stop
charge/discharging press Batt type/ Stop key.
