If the Super freezing function is activated, the control
lamp lights up and the message [SF] (Super Freez-
ing) appears on the display.
When the Super freezing function is activated, the
appliance works at maximum power (approx. -22°C)
to speed up the freezing process.
The Super freezing function switches off automatical-
ly after about 52 hours. The indoor temperature
adapts to the preset temperature.
The function can be ended at any time before the
switch-off time has expired.
ECO
Energy saving mode
Activate / deactivate the Energy saving mode with
the MODE- button.
If the Energy saving mode is activated, the control
lamp lights up and the message [SE] (Save Energy)
appears on the display.
The appliance is put into energy saving mode.
The indoor temperature is automatically adjusted to
between -17°C and -16°C and kept constant.
Alarm function
..with the appliance door open
An alarm sounds as soon as the appliance door re-
mains open for more than 5 minutes.
Press any button or close the appliance door to stop
the acoustic signal.
..when the temperature rises
If the appliance malfunctions or if there is no power
supply for a long time, the indoor temperature can
rise. If this rises to approx. -8°C, an alarm sounds
and the display shows
[ht] (high temperature)
alter-
nating with the detected temperature.
Press any button to stop the acoustic signal. The
display shows the fault until the internal temperature
has normalized again.
Starting the appliance

Connect the appliance to the power supply.

Set the operating conditions. See also the follow-
ing sections.
Settings
Basically, the temperature changes depending on the
ambient temperature (place of installation), the fre-
quency of opening the door and the equipment.
During initial operation, adjust the lowest possible
temperature (= highest power level) or set the Super
freezing function first, until the appliance has reached
the desired operating temperature. Afterwards it is
recommended to turn the control back to a medium
setting; correcting the temperature at a later point
would then be easier.
NOTE:
In generally a medium power level works best for an
optimized food storage. A high power level also in-
creases the energy consumption.
Storing food
NOTE: Recommendation!
To guarantee that the temperature is low enough,
you should pre-cool the appliance a few times before
initial loading foods.
CAUTION:
Always pay attention to the storage instructions on
the sales packaging.
The 4-star freezer allows you to store frozen food at
a temperature of ≤ -18°C for several months; to pro-
duce ice cubes and to freeze fresh food.
To avoid contamination of food, respect the following
instructions:

Opening the door for long periods can cause a
significant increase of the temperature in the
compartments of the appliance.
