Prepare the ATC system for
troubleshooting as described in
paragraph
3.
On
the
transponder’s front panel push
and hold the TEST switch. Do
ALL the LED indicators come
on for 1 second?
NO
Replace the ATC transponder (Ref 34-53-21/401) and do the required
test.
YES
If the R/T light indicator comes on, replace the ATC transponder (Ref
34-53-21/401) and do the required test.
YES
Replace the top ATC antenna
(Ref 34-53-11/401) and do the
required test.
If the ANT light indicator
comes on, examine the top
antenna cable. Is the cable OK
and the ATC transponder
installed properly?
NO
Repair or replace the antenna
cable or install the ATC
transponder properly (Ref 34-
53-31/201)
YES
Replace the bottom ATC
antenna (Ref 34-53-11/401)
and do the required test.
If the ANT light indicator
comes on, examine the bottom
antenna cable. Is the cable OK
and the ATC transponder
installed properly?
NO
Repair or replace the antenna
cable or install the ATC
transponder properly (Ref 34-
53-31/201)
Do all indicators lights go off?
NO
YES
Had the system malfunctioned
in flight?
NO
System is operational
YES
