
Seat the mudguard in hold-
er

Install the screws on left
and right.
Operate the brake several
times until the brake pads
are bedded.
Remove the rear-wheel
stand, if installed.
Removing rear wheel
Parts of the exhaust sys-
tem can be hot.
Do not touch hot parts of the
exhaust system.
Place the motorcycle on an
auxiliary stand; BMW Motor-
rad recommends the BMW
Motorrad rear-wheel stand.
Fit the rear wheel stand

Engage first gear.
Place a support underneath
the rear wheel and remove
5 studs

If applicable, remove lock
washer

of the rear-wheel
stand.
Lower the rear wheel to the
ground.
Roll the rear wheel out to-
ward the rear.
Installing rear wheel
Threaded fasteners not
tightened to the spe-
cified torque can work loose
or their threads can suffer
damage.
Always have the security of
the fasteners checked by a
specialist workshop, prefer-
ably an authorised BMW Mo-
torrad dealer.
Check that the wheel ad-
apter and wheel hub are
free of grease.
Place the rear wheel on the
wheel adapter.
