Chassis settings
Spring preload
The spring preload on the front
wheel can be adjusted to the
weight of the driver in depen-
dence on the conditions of the
road surface and the purpose.
It is essential to set the spring
preload of the rear suspension to
suit the load carried by the mo-
torcycle. Increase spring preload
when the motorcycle is heavily
loaded and reduce spring preload
accordingly when the motorcycle
is lightly loaded.
Damping
The damping must be adjust-
ed to the spring preload and the
road conditions. An increase in
spring preload requires firmer
damping, a reduction in spring
preload requires softer damping.
