Bluetooth pairing
Two Bluetooth devices have to
recognise each other before they
can communicate. This process
of mutual detection is called
"pairing". When a device has
been paired it is subsequently
remembered by the system, so
the pairing process is conducted
only once, on initial contact.
The BMW Motorrad Fit-for-All
communication system can pair
with the following Bluetooth
devices:
another BMW Motorrad Fit-for-
All communication system
another BMW communication
system (V3 or WCS2)
the connectivity system in-
stalled in the BMW Motorrad
motorcycle
a mobile phone
a navigation device
an audio playback device
another communication system
Pairing with a second Bluetooth
device belonging to a given cat-
egory automatically overwrites
the entry for the original device.
If the original device is to be re-
used at some subsequent point
in time, it has to be paired again
with the communication system.
In the pairing process, a
Bluetooth devices searches for
other Bluetooth-compatible
devices within its reception
range. The conditions that
have to be satisfied before the
searching device can recognise
another Bluetooth device are as
follows:
The device's Bluetooth func-
tion must be active
The device must be "visible" to
others
Please consult the instructions
for use of the devices in question
for details.
Some pairings require the
BMW Motorrad Fit-for-All
communication system to be
in intercom mode instead of
mobile phone mode. To have
the BMW Motorrad Fit-for-All
communication system search for
another communication system
in intercom mode, press the
middle button once. In mobile
phone mode or in multipoint
pairing mode, the search can
also be started by means of the
Configuration menu.
If pairing does not complete
within three minutes, the
BMW Motorrad Fit-for-All
communication system switches
back to standby mode.
