Once the brakes have been engaged, patient sitting and standing should be performed,
with the seat in the low position:
o
From the side by lowering the armrests (and returning the chair to the patient
installation position)
o
or from the front by returning the chair to the patient installation position with the
help of the nursing staff.
-
When getting up, the patient must not rest on the articulated anatomical armrests.
-
The chair’s brakes must be engaged when the patient sits down and stands up

The patient must not sit on the legrest or backrest.
-
In the case of an unassisted patient, the caregivers must inform the patient of the safety
measures that must be implemented when using the product.
-
Tell the patient not to sit on the ends (foot or head) of the chair. An excess weight applied
to one of the ends could tip the patient surface and injure the patient.
-
Tell the patient and any accompanying persons not to sit on the armrests.
-
Before moving the product:
o
Ensure that the power cord is unplugged.
o
Ensure that the brakes are released. It may be hazardous for the user and patient
when attempting to move the product with the brakes engaged.
o
Ensure that the patient’s limbs do not extend beyond the
armrests and legrest.
o
The product must be placed in the lowered and comfort
position.
-
The chair’s mechanisms could
cause lesions; ensure that no-one is touching the mechanical
elements before activating the chair.
-
To ensure correct use of the product, only proceed if the weight is correctly distributed
over the device.
-
The “variable height” function should be used when
handling the patient in order to work
at an ergonomic height.
-
Once movement is no longer required, the chair should be immobilized with the brakes.
Next, check that the wheels are locked by attempting to move the chair. Failure to
observe this manipulation could lead to the fall of a person leaning against the chair.
