If the autodetection still fails, reset the terminal emulation program and try a baud rate that differs from the
one you used in step 2. Once you reset the baud rate, proceed to step 3 and begin the autodetection again. If
this fails, call Technical Support for assistance.
4. To enter the Monitor mode, press <Enter>, type
monitor,
and press <Enter> again.
5. At this point, you are prompted to enter the password. The default password for starting terminal operations
is “fibermux” (all eight characters are lower case).

When entering the terminal session for the first time, type the “fibermux” default password (an asterisk [*]
appears on the screen after each typed character) and press <Enter>. The Main Fibermux menu appears (see
Figure 5-2).

For the menu map, refer to Figure 5-3.
The options to change local and remote interface configurations under the Configuration option refer
to setting local loopback connections in both the local and remote T1 or E1 Fiber Muxes.
The Special Actions menu contains fiber optic link redundancy types (available only if you install the optional
redundant fiber link board on the motherboard) and the T1 or E1’s remote loopback setting.
SNMP Parameters is reserved for future use.
