1. Examine probe, make sure it is clean and dry.
Dirt, moisture and grease can provide a creep path
for voltage. If in doubt, wipe with a clean, dry, lint-
free cloth.
2. Make sure appropriate tip is installed in probe
for measurement. Use round needle tip for general
applications and plat tip for CRT’s. Hand-tighten
tips, do not use pliers.
3. Connect alligator clip of your probe to earth
ground – electrical connection must be good.
4. Connect probe’s BNC male connector to your
oscilloscope. Make sure ground lead from probe is
connected to common ground of your instrument.
5. Select voltage range on oscilloscope, typically 2
or 5 volts/division. NOTE: Probe divides reading by
1000, a reading of 10V is actually 10,000 volts.
6. With your free had in your back pocket, touch
probe to high voltage point and note reading at
external meter. Avoid contacting any exposed metal
parts.

will be free from defects in workmanship and
materials for a period of one year from the date of
purchase.
B+K Precision will, without charge, repair or replace,
at its option, defective products or component
parts upon delivery to an authorized B+K Precision
service contractor or to the factory service
department, accompanied by proof of the purchase
date in the form of a sales receipt.
