3.5.2

Control Software-Parameter Settings

All of the six basic detector control parameters can be modified

via the detector control panel. Changes to temperature and gas
flow are made via the METHOD button, while changes to the

LED, Smoothing and Gain are adjusted via the Edit menu: -
(EDIT

/ Instrument settings menu option).

Once a change has been made, the UPDATE button must be
pressed in order to download the information to the detector.

Note:

The L.E.D intensity is set for

ALL

methods used on the detector

and is

NOT

Method specific.

3.5.3

Control Software-System Test

The System Test is used to evaluate the ELSD-1080
performance to ensure it is operating to the high standards set

by Biotage. When you select this feature (TOOLS

/ Run system

test menu option), the software will run the ELSD through a

number of internal diagnostic tests, and then compare the
results with the expected values set by Biotage. The test

information can subsequently be printed as a record.
