WALK-IN CHAMBER EXPLAINED
2.1
System Description
The “Walk-in” bio-decontamination chamber, hereinafter referred as WIC, is for
decontamination of material loads or equipment entering or exiting controlled
areas, with floor level loading/unloading.
The WIC has two principle modes of operation:

Air Clean Up cycle
2.
Hydrogen Peroxide Vapour disinfection cycle
The
“Air Clean Up cycle”
provides particulate clean up to EU Grade C/B (US
Class 100,000/10,000) particle conditions (as required), via H14 grade inlet HEPA
filtration. The particulate clean up time is a validated time based on clean up from
the actual environmental conditions on the “dirty” or Classified EU Grade (US
Class) loading side to the required level, typically that of the “Clean” / production
side.
The WIC doors are interlocked so that no two doors are open at the same time
and the Clean Up is completed after loading and before the other side door can be
opened. Each time a door is closed clean up will be completed automatically
before re-entry (door opening) is possible.
The
“Hydrogen Peroxide Vapour disinfection cycle”
is an automated cycle
for disinfection of material outer surfaces.
The WIC requires a Hydrogen Peroxide Vapour (HPV) Generator for material
surface bio-decontamination. The HPV Generator can be connected either room
side or in a separate technical area. The Hydrogen Peroxide supply may be
integrated into the WIC when connected to an integrated HPV Generator (IG-1).
2.2
Configurations
The WIC can be configured to client specifications:

Product Range
The WIC can be supplied in three standard depths; 2700mm, 3100mm or
3500mm (external dimensions).
There are two widths available (internal dimensions 1680mm or 2180mm).
The internal height of the WIC is either 2200mm (standard) or 2600mm (for
chambers with an internal ceiling mounted aeration unit installed).
2.2.2
Chamber Doors
The WIC doors are supplied as standard in Phenolic Resin with double glazed
6mm thick toughened glass and integrated H

test port. An upgrade to
stainless steel 304 or 316 is available.
