7.7 How to check the weighing system
Check to make sure that the weight is displayed correctly using a weight
of a known value. This operation must be carried out with the machine
on and running, by selecting a PLU and resetting the tare and
percentage tare value.
There are two instrument categories: category X(x) including machines
that carry out weight monitoring tasks and category Y(y) comprising
weighing and labelling machines.
When it comes to category
X(x) , make sure that the weight indication
error on the printed label is the same or less than the values given in the
table below:

For example, for a scale with a max. 6 kg capacity and e=2g division,
the table above reads:

If a known weight of 500g is loaded, there should be a 0.500kg +/-2g
indication on the display (valid from 0.498kg to 0.502kg).

indication on the display (valid from 1.996kg to 2.004kg).
