Getting Started

Verify that the Hearthwarmer-II will fi t properly in your 
fi rebox application and that you have all optional parts 
needed to complete the install.      

Minimum fi rebox dimensions needed are:
• 

Front Width - 32”

• 

Back Width - 19 1/2”

• 

Depth - 21”

• 

Height - 19”

For  fi replaces with existing glass doors, make sure the 
doors can be elevated a minimum of 1-3/8” to accom-
modate The Hearthwarmer-II’s front grille. 

Tools you MAY need for installing:
• Phillips 

screwdriver

• Hacksaw
• Pliers

Installation

1. Remove Glass Doors and Grate

If the fi replace has glass doors, remove the glass doors 

and the existing fi replace grate. The grate can be dis-

carded. 

2. Remove Shipping Bracket

Remove the unpainted shipping bracket from the Hearth-

warmer-II by removing the screw from the bracket. Dis-

card the bracket.

3. Attach The Front Grille

Attach the front grille to the heat exchanger with the 

provided phillips-head screws, such that the fan control 

knob stem goes through the provided hole of the grille.  

Place rheostat knob over end of knob stem and push 

on.

4. Place The Hearthwarmer-II In Firebox

Place The Hearthwarmer-II in center of fi rebox with equal 

distances from left to right sideOnce the Hearthwarmer-

II is placed in the fi rebox, determine whether The 

Hearthwarmer-II grille will be an overlap fi t  (Illustration 

A) or an inside fi t  (Illustration B) in accordance with the 

fi rebox opening.

For an inside fi t, mark the front grille to match the 

fi rebox opening width, (Illustration C) then cut the grille 

(Illustration D) with a hacksaw on both ends.

Hearthwarmer-II

 

can be used in a wood burning masonry fi replace, with or 

without glass doors. 

It is recommended that glass doors be used in conjunction with this unit to maxi-

mize your effi ciencies.  Refer to the door manufacturer’s instruction manual for 

proper usage and maintenance of the fi replace glass doors. 

With proper care and maintenance, it is a safe and effi cient heat-producing insert 
for your fi replace.
