Securing the firebox to the mantel by
using six Screws (Z) as insert manual.
This Tip Restraint should be attached to a wall stud where possible. If Placement does not align
with a wall stud, the plastic wall anchor must be used.
1. Using the 5/8” screw provided, attach the bracket to the top wood panel of the mantel inserting
the screw through the smaller hole in the bracket. Fully tighten the screw.
2. Place the fireplace mantel in the desired location and mark the location of the installed bracket
on the wall. Remove the mantel.
3. Locate a spot about 2” below the mark made for the first bracket. Secure the second bracket to
the wall with the 2” screw provided. If the screw hits a wall stud then fully tighten the screw and
the plastic anchor does not need to be used. If no wall stud is located, remove the screw and
insert the plastic wall anchor. Attach the bracket to the plastic wall anchor and fully tighten the
screw.
4. Replace the mantel back into the desired location. The brackets should be aligned vertically.
5. Lace the end of the restraint strap trough the larger hole in each bracket. Bring the ends of the
strap together and slide the flat end of the restraint strap through the locking end and draw it
through until all slack is removed.
6. Confirm the strap is securely laced and locked.
