DISMANTLING

Before you start to dismantle the engine it is essen-
tial that you also read the next chapter, which deals 
with assembly, because it discusses all the checks 
that  need  to  be  carried  out  on  individual  compo-
nents.

3.1 DRAINING THE OIL

Remove  the oil  drainplug  and let  the  oil flow out 
into a drain pan.

Take  out  the  oil  filters  from  the  left-hand  (1)  and 
right-hand (2) crankcase halves after first removing 
the filter covers.
