Setting a Flow Alarm Threshold
Set the flow alarm threshold for each patient individually; check it and
adjust it as needed. If the flow alarm threshold is set too low, it can re-
sult in insufficient patient support not triggering alarms. Do not set the
flow alarm threshold to a value that will make the alarm unusable.
1.
The flow alarm needs to signal insufficient support reliably, while avoiding
unnecessary alarms for minor flow fluctuations.
The flow alarm must be set immediately after connection of the flow sensor.
Each time after the rate is adjusted, check the flow alarm threshold and adjust
it if necessary.
