POWER

1.

Installing Batteries

Open the battery compartment on the rear of the radio and insert 4 x 1.5V/D size/UM-1 batteries (not
supplied), observing the correct polarities (=+-), as indicated inside the battery compartment.
Note:   When the batteries become wear, the volume will become faint and distorted and the band

reception becomes unstable. Please replace discharged batteries with new ones as soon as possible.

2.

DC Operation

The unit can also be operated by a 6V/300mA regulated DC Adaptor (not supplied). This should be
connected to the DC input jack (5) of the radio and plugged into a suitable 230V AC mains socket. Please
check the polarity of the plug.

Note:  The batteries do not need to be removed when using a DC Adaptor, as the battery power source will

be cut off automatically.

3.

AC Mains Operation

Connect the figure-of-eight plug into the AC cord input jack (13) on the back of the radio, and the 3-in mains
plug into a suitable 230V power socket.
When connected to the mains, the unit will automatically cut off the battery or DC power source (if still
connected).
