STEP 2:
DRIVE MECHANISM INSTALLATION
NOTE: You must remove the mower deck before
installing the drive mechanism.
Tractors with an electric clutch:
This kit is assembled for tractors with an electric
clutch. There are no modifications to be made.
Tractors with a manual clutch:
If you have a tractor with a manual clutch, you must
change the belt and replace it with the A-57 belt.
Remove the bolt (item 5) and the belt guide (item 6).
Install the belt and reinstall the belt guide and bolt.
You must remove the clutch link (item 1).
Install the clutch cable (item 2) onto the drive
mechanism by hooking the end of the cable to the
lever (item 3). Hold cable shield in place by inserting
the threaded conduit fitting into the slot (item 4) one
nut on each side.
Center the nuts and tighten them moderately.
Install the drive mechanism (item 1) underneath the
tractor by hooking the rear section to the
reinforcement crossbar of the tractor frame (item 2)
Secure the front section of the drive mechanism
between the supports (items 3 & 4).
Secure in place with the pin (item 5) and 2.5 mm hair
pin (item 6).
Install belt (the longest A-57 for manual clutch and the
shortest A-53 for electric clutch) onto the large drive
mechanism pulley first, then on the engine pulley
Install drive mechanism.
