Once the App has been downloaded it will be possible to register the users and customize profiles based on
personal information.
ScaleUp is able to assess 21 different body indicators: body shape, nutrition, weight, BMI, Body fat %, Muscles
weight, Visceral fat, Water level, Bone structure, Basal metabolic rate, Body fat weight. Bone muscles, Water
content weight, Protein content weight, Ideal weight, Weight control, Body fat control, Muscular mass control,
Body age, Protein content %, Lean body mass.
Instructions for use
After setting your personal data and information, keeping the App running on your device step on the body scale
barefoot, making sure your feet are correctly positioned on the glass panel Fig. A.
Wait until the following data are displayed on your device:
Body fat content
Related to the content of body fat calculated over body total weight; obesity should be assessed through body
fat content rather than body weight.
Basal metabolic rate
Basal metabolic rate (BMR) is the quantity of energy that is used throughout the day to keep vital functions run-
ning (breathing, heartbeat, heat conservation, etc.).
Water content
Related to the body water content; with average body fat, body water content should be as follows:
Women 45% - 60%; Men: 55% - 65%
Protein
Main substances that make up human organs and tissues, their role is very important in all human life activities.
Bone mass
In this case, bone content is related to the bone salt content, which is the mineral content of the bones. Bones
are constantly undergoing an active metabolism that provides the calcium the body needs, always creating new
bone mass. Being too thin or not getting enough exercise is closely related to bone loss.
Visceral fat
This is the fat that accumulates around intestines, it is easily accumulated and decomposed. Visceral fat is con-
sidered the most important, as well as one of the disease risk assessment factors.
Please note that the assessment of all these indicators can easily vary due to many different factors, it is thus
advisable to assess weight always at the same time during the day, preferably before exercising and away from
meals.
Cleaning and maintenance
The body scale can be cleaned with a soft cloth slightly dampened with warm water.
Do not use thinners, or other abrasive detergents, as these might damage the surface of the body scale.
Do not immerse the scale in water.
Protect the scale from accidental infiltration of liquids.
Keep hair lotions, make up or other soaps and lotions away from the body scale, as these can damage the ap-
pearance and/or the inner circuit of the scale.
