Notes on handling batteries
Keep batteries out of the reach of children. Children can put batteries in their mouth and swallow
them. This can cause severe harm to their health. In this case, consult a physician immediately!
• Normal batteries must not be recharged, heated or thrown into open flame (danger of explosion!).
• Always replace all batteries at the same time, use batteries of the same type, and do not use re-
chargeable batteries.
• Leaking batteries may damage the device. If you do not intend to use the device for longer periods,
remove the batteries from the battery compartment.
CAUTION: Disposal
Follow local regulations regarding the disposal of materials. The appliance should be disposed of
according to Regulation 2002/96/EC-WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment). In case of
queries, contact the municipal authorities responsible for waste disposal in your area.
The used, completely drained standard and rechargeable batteries must be disposed of in specially

legally obligated to dispose of the batteries.

without any notice.
The European directive 2011/65/EU on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE),
requires that old household electrical appliances must not be disposed of in the normal
unsorted municipal waste stream. Old appliances must be collected separately in order to
optimize the recovery and recycling of the materials they contain, and reduce the impact on
human health and the environment. The crossed out “wheeled bin” symbol on the product
reminds you of your obligation, that when you dispose of the appliance, it must be separa-
tely collected.
