TESTING
1)
All the alarm sig nal ser vices, re leas ing de vice and ex tin guisher sys tem
should be dis en gaged dur ing the test pe riod and must be re-en gaged
im me di ately at the con clu sion of test ing.
2)
Af ter en er giz ing the de tec tor head for ap prox i mately one min ute, check
to see the in di ca tor red LED flash ing once ev ery 4-6 sec onds. If red LED
fails to flash, it in di cates the non-func tion ing of the de tec tor or faulty wir -
ing. Re-check the wir ing or re place the de tec tor if nec es sary.
CAUTIONS
This heat de tec tor is par tic u larly de signed to
ini ti ate and ac ti vate
emer -
gency ac tion, but will do so only when it is used in con junc tion with an au tho -
rized fire alarm sys tem.
The pur pose of de sign of heat de tec tors is meant to pro tect prop erty,
not life
. The heat de tec tors do not pro vide early warn ing of fire and can not de -
tect smoke, gas, com bus tion par ti cles, or flame. They will alarm when tem per -
a ture at the heat de tec tor reach 57°C (135°F) or above. Given the rapid
growth of cer tain types of fires, heat de tec tors can not be ex pected to pro vide
ad e quate warn ing of fires re sult ing from smok ing in bed, in ad e quate fire pro -
tec tion prac tices, vi o lent ex plo sions, es cap ing gas, and im proper stor age of
flam ma ble liq uids like clean ing sol vents, other safety haz ards, or ar son.
SPECIFICHE
http:www.ben tel se cu rity.com
Heat de tec tors do not al ways de tect fires be cause the fire may be a
slow-smol der ing, low-heat type (pro duc ing smoke), or be cause they may not
be mean where the fire oc curs, or be cause the heat of the fire may by pass
them
. Heat de tec tors will not de tect smoke, gas, flames, or com bus tion par ti cles.
Heat de tec tors are com po nents in pro fes sion ally in stalled fire alarm sys -
tems.
They will not func tion if they have been im prop erly wired into the
fire alarm sys tem or if power to them is dis con nected for any rea son.
Heat de tec tors can not last for ever
. They should be tested and main tained
fol low ing the in struc tions in this man ual. To be safe, they should be re placed
af ter they have been in stalled for ten years.
