General information on digital current clamp meter
5.1.1 The digital display
6
is designed as a 4 digit liquid-crystal indicator with
14 mm digit height with decimal point. The highest value displayed is
6000.
5.1.2 In case of a range exceedance (overflow), “0L.” is displayed.
Attention: no display or warning by complete overload.
5.1.3 The BENNING CM 9-2 can be switched on/off by pressing (2 s) the key
8
. After switching on, the remaining battery capacity is briefly displayed
in %. Press the key
8
again to switch the display illumination on or off.
5.1.4 The
Bluetooth
®
key
4
has two functions:
- Enables the Bluetooth
®
interface with the “ “ symbol being shown
on the LC display
6
at the same time.
- Press the key for approx. 2 seconds to enable the measuring point
illumination.
5.1.5 The
LPF
key (low-pass filter)
5
is used for enabling various filters to
suppress high-frequency interfering signals:
Low-pass filter (50 Hz to 60 Hz):
Press the key once to enable a low-pass filter (50 Hz to 60 Hz) with
being shown on the LC display
6
at the same time.
The low-pass filter (50 Hz to 60 Hz)) suppresses high-frequency in
-
terfering signals generated by electrical devices/installations with fre
-
quency converters. The limiting frequency is approx. 200 Hz.
Device filter (1 kHz):
Press the key again to enable a device filter (1 kHz) with
being
shown on the LC display
6
at the same time. The frequency charac
-
teristics meet the requirements of EN 61557-16 (VDE 0413-16) and
can be used to measure protective conductor currents and differential
currents of electrical devices. The limiting frequency is approx. 1 kHz.
5.1.6 The
HOLD
key
9
has two functions:
- The measuring result can be stored by pressing the HOLD key
9
. The “HOLD” symbol simultaneously appears on the display
6
.
Press the key again to switch the device back to measuring mode.
- Pressing the key for approx. 2 seconds enables the MAX/MIN func
-
tion and automatically stores the highest and the lowest measured
value. By pressing the key again, the following values are dis
-
played: “MAX MIN” displays the current measured value, “MAX”
displays the highest value stored and “MIN” displays the lowest
value stored. Press the key for approx. 2 seconds to switch back to
normal operating mode.
5.1.7 The
RANGE
key
J
can be used to change over to the individual man
-
ual measuring ranges (6 mA, 60 mA, 600 mA, 6 A, 60 A) and to hide
“AUTO” on the display
6
at the same time. Press the key for approx.
2 seconds to select the automatic range selection (“AUTO” is shown on
the display).
5.1.8 The measuring rate of the BENNING CM 9-2 amounts nominally to 5
measurements per second for the digital display.
5.1.9 The BENNING CM 9-2 switches off automatically after approx. 20
minutes (
APO
,
A
uto-
P
ower-
O
ff is activated, if the symbol
is
shown on the display
6
). It switches on again when the ON/OFF key
8
is pressed for 2 seconds. Automatic switch-off can be deactivated
by pressing the LPF key
5
and by simultaneously switching on the
BENNING CM 9-2. The symbol
disappears from the display
6
.
5.1.10 The BENNING CM 9-2 is supplied by two 1.5 V batteries (IEC LR6/ AA/
mignon).
5.1.11 If the battery voltage drops below the specified operating voltage of the
BENNING CM 9-2, then a battery symbol
appears in the display
6
.
5.1.12 The battery life is approximately 60 hours without using the measuring
point/display illumination and the Bluetooth
®
function. (alkaline battery).
5.1.13 Temperature coefficient of the measured value: 0.1 x (stated measuring
accuracy)/ °C < 18 °C or > 28 °C, related to the value for the reference
temperature of 23 °C
5.1.14 Dimensions of unit (length x width x height) = 230 x 100 x 46 mm.
