ACCESS TO THE BOAT

Side hatches
- It is imperative that both the cockpit and the
engine compartment are kept closed when at
sea.
- When at sea close the guardrail side-
opening or openings.
- Slamming an access hatch may cause injury
: always close the hatch gently and carefully.
- Do not allow children to open or close the
hatches unsupervised.
- It is imperative that companionway access is
kept closed when at sea.
- Close the deck hatches and portholes
before each trip.
- Close all access doors and hatches in heavy
weather or when the sea is rough.
- Keep the sea cocks, discharge and drainage
points closed to minimise the risk of seawater
pouring in.
